Man charged after glassing in Sydney

Police have charged a man with reckless wounding after another man was allegedly glassed in a Sydney CBD restaurant kitchen today, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to the premises on Clarence Street just after 1pm today after reports of a fight between two staff members.

Police were told a 24-year-old man was struck to the head with a bottle, which broke; he was then allegedly slashed on the cheek with the broken glass.

He was assisted by other staff members until police arrived, before being taken to St Vincent's Hospital.

A 34-year-old man was arrested by police and has been charged with reckless wounding.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.
