Man charged after indecent act in Redfern

A man has been charged after allegedly exposing himself and committing an indecent act in front of a group of children in Redfern, NSW Police say.

About 12pm today, a group of children aged between three and seven were in a play area of Redfern Park in Redfern, then they were approached by a 50-year-old man.

The man allegedly exposed himself before committing an indecent act in front of the children.

He left the park with witnesses following him.

At the intersection of Chalmers and Redfern Streets, the man allegedly exposed himself again to a woman.

Police from Redfern Local Area Command attended and arrested the man as he walked along Redfern Street.

He was taken to Redfern Police Station where he was charged with two counts of wilful and obscene exposure and one count of commit act of indecency.

He was bail refused to appear at Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow (17 December 2016).
