A man has been charged with a number of offences, after police seized a firearms part and knife in the state's south.
About 6pm, on Sunday 11 January 2026, police responded after reports of a man acting suspiciously in a backyard of house on Waugh Road, North Albury.
Officers attached to Murray River Police District responded and arrested a 25-year-old man.
Police searched the man and seized a 20 centimetre firearm barrel, a fold out knife and car keys – which police will allege belonged to a car stolen the previous day.
The man was taken to Albury Police Station.
