Man charged after multiple break-ins in Armidale

Police have charged a man following multiple alleged break-ins in the NSW New England region this week, NSW Police say.

Between Monday (15 August 2016) and yesterday, a number of homes were allegedly broken into across Armidale.

About 1.30pm yesterday, police located a stolen Holden Commodore utility in abandoned bushland behind a caravan park on Waterfall Way, Armidale.

Several items of property believed to be stolen were allegedly located and seized during a search of the vehicle and surrounding area.

A short time later, a 39-year-old man was arrested at a home on McBean Avenue.

Police searched the house and allegedly located and seized property believed to be stolen including jewellery and other items.

The man was taken to Armidale Police Station and charged with break and enter commit serious indictable offence (x3), take and drive conveyance without consent of owner (x3), and drive while disqualified.

He was bail refused to appear at Armidale Local Court today.
