A 33-year-old man has been charged after another man suffered serious injuries after allegedly falling from a moving vehicle in the Central Tablelands last month.
About 8.30pm on Sunday (26 October 2025), emergency services responded to reports that a man had been located at the intersection of Stewart Street and Durham Street, Bathurst, with serious head injuries.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 30-year-old man at the scene before he was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.
Officers from Chifley Police District secured a crime scene and were able to establish that the man allegedly fell from the front passenger side of a utility where it failed to stop and continued travelling west along Stewart Street.
Police established that a 33-year-old man was allegedly the driver of the vehicle – a white Mitsubishi Triton – at the time of the incident. He was spoken to by investigators and the vehicle was seized for forensic examination from a property on Sydney Road, Kelso.
It was established that both men are known to one another.
The 30-year-old man remains in a critical condition at Westmead Hospital.
About 10.30am today (Tuesday 4 November 2025), a 33-year-old man was arrested at a residence on Sydney Road, Kelso. He was taken to Bathurst Police Station where he was charged with fail to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing grievous bodily harm. He was granted conditional bail to face Bathurst Local Court on Wednesday 19 November 2025.
