Man charged after police vehicle rammed in Thornbury

A man has been charged tonight after a police vehicle was rammed in Thornbury last month., Victoria Police say

Detectives from Darebin Crime Investigation Unit arrested the man as part of an ongoing investigation into a series of evade police, pursuit and police vehicle ramming offences including one in Thornbury on 26 August.

He was arrested in a vehicle on Red Box Street, Coburg North just before 12.50pm.

The 27-year-old Thomastown man received over 70 charges including:

• Burglary

• Theft

• Theft of motor vehicle

• Handle stolen goods

• Possess firearm and ammunition

• Conduct endangering person

• Assault police

• Criminal damage

• Bail offences

• Traffic offences

He faced an out of sessions hearing this evening and was remanded to appear at Heidelberg Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
