Man charged after PSO is injured

Police have arrested a 23-year-old Highett man following an incident in Highett early this morning, Victoria Police say.

A PSO patrolling the railway station was struck a number of times with pellets from an imitation firearm from a nearby apartment on Graham Road just after 1am.

The alleged offender surrendered to police inside the lobby of the apartment building.

A male and female are also assisting police with their enquiries.

The PSO is being treated for minor injuries.

The 23-year-old has been charged with firearms offences, reckless conduct endangering serious injury and assault police and will appear in Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court later today.
