Man charged after robbery, NSW

A man will face court today after an armed robbery in Port Macquarie at the weekend, NSW Police say.

About 5.20pm on Sunday (2 July 2017), a 16-year-old male attended a car park at Flynns Beach when he was approached by a man, known to him.

The man allegedly threatened the teen, demanding cash before assaulting him and showing him a knife concealed in his pants.

The teen removed cash from his pocket and the man took it before fleeing.

The teen attempted to flag down a passing light blue hatchback before being picked up by relatives and driven to Port Macquarie Police Station.

Following inquiries, an 18-year-old man was arrested at Port Macquarie Police Station yesterday.

He was charged with robbery and refused bail to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court today.

Anyone with information should contact Port Macquarie Police or Crime Stoppers.
