Man Charged After Serious Crash in Coolumburra

A man will face court following a two-vehicle crash on the South Coast last month.

About 3:35pm on Thursday 5 June 2025, emergency services were called to Braidwood Road, Coolumburra, approximately 50km south-west of Nowra, following reports of a two-vehicle crash.

Officers attached to South Coast Police District attended the scene and found a Toyota Hilux, driven by a 24-year-old man, had collided with a Tesla, driven by a 47-year-old woman.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the scene and treated the 47-year-old woman before she was airlifted to The Canberra Hospital in a serious condition. The 24-year-old man was taken to Nowra Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established and investigations into the circumstances of the incident commenced by the Southern Crash Investigation Unit.

Following inquiries, the 24-year-old man was charged with cause bodily harm by misconduct, in charge of motor vehicle and negligent driving (no death or grievous bodily harm).

He will appear at Nowra Local Court on Tuesday 9 September 2025.
