Man charged after supplying illicit drugs on Lord Howe Island, NSW

A man will appear in court next month after allegedly supplying illicit drugs on Lord Howe Island, NSW Police say.

Officers from Mid North Coast Local Area Command and a Senior Constable working on Lord Howe Island have been investigating the alleged supply of illicit drugs on Lord Howe Island.

About 1.35pm today, police arrested a 29-year-old man at Port Macquarie Airport before he boarded a flight.

It will be alleged a search of the man’s luggage resulted in police locating cannabis, MDMA, and amphetamines. All items have been seized for forensic examination.

The man was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station, where he was charged with three counts of possess prohibited drug and one count of deemed supply.

He was granted conditional bail, to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court on 16 November 2016.
