Police have charged a man following an incident in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs yesterday, NSW Police say.
Shortly before 11am on Wednesday 20 April 2016, three women were talking in a common area of an apartment block on Elphinstone Road, South Coogee, when an argument began with a man.
Police have been told the 43-year-old man, allegedly produced a gun and threatened the women. It is believed as the man walked away, he pushed one of the women.
Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Local Area Command attended the location and commenced an investigation.
A short time later, a 43-year-old man was arrested and taken to Maroubra Police Station. He has been charged with possess unregistered firearm, two counts of stalk/intimidate intend to fear or physical harm, armed with intent to commit indictable offence – intimidation.
Following the investigations, police executed a search warrant on Elphinstone Road, South Coogee, shortly before 5pm. Officers located several items including a firearm, a safe and voice recorder, which were all seized for forensic examination.
The 43-year-old man was bail refused to appear at Waverley Local Court today.
