Man charged, drugs and knife seized during vehicle stop, NSW

A man has been charged with drugs, proceeds of crime and possession of a knife following a vehicle stop in Coonamble, on the central-western plains of NSW, NSW Police say.

Shortly before 4.30pm yesterday, yesterday, officers from Castlereagh Local Area Command were patrolling Wilga Street, Coonamble, when they stopped a silver Holden Commodore sedan.

Police spoke to the driver, a 23-year-old man, before searching him and the vehicle.

During the search, officers allegedly found a number of items including a knife, drugs and cash.

He was arrested and taken to Coonamble Police Station.

The 23-year-old man was charged with supply a prohibited drug, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, possess prohibited drug, possess administering utensils and possess knife in a public place.

He was refused bail to appear at Walgett Local Court today.
