Man charged following assault with bottle in Lilyfield

A man has been charged following the alleged assault of another man at Lilyfield yesterday, NSW Police say.

Police were told about 11am today, four men were inside a unit on Lilyfield Road.

Two of the men became involved in an altercation with one allegedly hitting the other across the forehead with a glass bottle.

The two men were told to leave the premises and police and emergency services were contacted to attend.

A 23-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics for a laceration to his forehead. He was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment.

A 28-year-old man was arrested nearby. He was taken to Newtown Police Station where he was charged with reckless wounding.

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Newtown Local Court on Thursday 14 July 2016.
