Man charged following Blackmans Bay burglary, TAS

Detectives from the Hobart Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a 34 year old Herdsmans Cove man with aggravated burglary and stealing after allegedly stealing a safe from a Blackmans Bay Home last Saturday night, Tasmania Police say.

Police allege the man entered the residence at Blackmans Bay and stole a safe containing a quantity of property, valued in the vicinity of $46,000.

A swift response by police resulted in the safe being recovered nearby.

Following a search, the man was later arrested at a Herdsmans Cove address and was detained for court. He has been bailed to reappear at the Hobart Magistrates Court in late July 2018.
