Man charged following break-in and car theft in South Lismore

A man has been charged following investigations into an alleged break-in at South Lismore on the weekend, NSW Police say.

Police will allege in the early hours of Sunday 21 August 2016, a home on Union Street was broken into when the occupants were asleep inside.

A set of car keys and cigarettes were allegedly taken along with a Ford Falcon sedan which was recovered the following day.

Officers from the Richmond Local Area Command Target Action Group (TAG) commenced investigations into the incident.

Following inquiries, about 1pm today, officers arrested an 18-year-old man at a home in Brewster Street, Lismore.

He was taken to Lismore Police Station and charged with two offences:

- Aggravated break, enter and steal; and

- Take and drive conveyance.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear before Lismore Local Court on Monday 19 September 2016.
