Man Charged Following Discovery of Body in Homebush West

A man will appear in court today charged with manslaughter after the body of a man was located in Sydney's southwest last week.

About 8pm on Friday 27 October 2023, emergency services responded to reports that the body of a man had been located along Courallie Avenue, Homebush West.

Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command attended and found a 44-year-old man on the roadway suffering extensive head injuries.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, however; he died at the scene.

A crime scene was established as police commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

About 11.45am on Sunday 29 October 2023, police executed a search warrant on a home at Fuller Street, Chester Hill, and arrested a 37-year-old man.

He was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with manslaughter, dangerous driving occasioning death – drive manner dangerous, fail to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing death and larceny.

He was refused bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court today (Monday 30 October 2023).
