Man charged following Glenhuntly assaults

Police have charged a 47-year-old Carnegie man following a number of assaults at Glenhuntly Railway Station this morning, Victoria Police say.

Police attended the Glenhuntly Railway Station following reports of a man with a knife.

It is alleged the man assaulted five women, three of those remain in hospital in a stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

The Carnegie man was arrested at the scene and has been charged with numerous offences including attempted murder, intentionally cause serious injury, affray and making threats to kill.

He will be remanded to appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
