Man charged following investigations into armed robbery and vehicle theft, NSW

A man has been charged following investigations into an armed robbery at a pizza restaurant in Charmhaven last month, NSW Police say.

About 8.55pm on Sunday 12 March 2017 police will allege a man entered the Pacific Highway business armed with a knife.

He allegedly threatened a number of staff members before running from the location with an amount of cash.

Detectives from Tuggerah Lakes attended the scene and commenced an investigation.

today, police allegedly attempted to stop a 30-year-old man who was driving a confirmed stolen vehicle in a shopping centre carpark in Lakehaven.

A number of attempts were made to stop the Toyota Prado and a pursuit was initiated but quickly terminated.

Hours later, about 4.40pm, police noticed the Prado parked in the driveway of a home on Eden Close, Kanwal.

Officers from Tuggerah Lakes entered the house and arrested a 30-year-old man.

He was taken to Wyong Police Station where he was charged with multiple offences including robbery while armed with an offensive weapon, fraud, traffic offences including disqualified driver and engage in police pursuit, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV).

He was refused bail and will appear in Wyong Local Court tomorrow.

Police are continuing their inquiries.
