Man charged following Oakleigh fatal collision

Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) detectives have charged a 20-year-old man following a fatal collision in Oakleigh earlier this week, Victoria Police say.

The 20-year-old was arrested at an address in Fulton Road in Blackburn South on Thursday evening.

A parole warrant was executed which ensures that the man will be immediately returned to prison.

At the same time MCIU detectives executed a charge and warrant on the man and he has been charged with culpable driving, dangerous driving causing death, fail to stop after collision with a fatality, fail to render assistance after fatal collision, theft of motor vehicle and drive whilst disqualified.

He will be presented before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
