Homicide Squad detectives have charged a 58-year-old man following the death of a woman in Red Cliffs last month, Victoria Police say.
The New South Wales man has been charged this afternoon with one count of murder.
He remains in hospital under police guard.
A remand hearing will be held at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this afternoon.
The charge relates to the alleged fatal shooting of an 81-year-old Red Cliffs woman at her Snowy Avenue property about 12.30pm on 30 October.
