Man charged following Reservoir fatal crash

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a 43-year-old man following a fatal car crash in Reservoir on Friday night, Victoria Police say.

The Reservoir man has been charged with dangerous driving causing death,

dangerous driving causing serious injury, driving while disqualified and using an unregistered motor vehicle.

He has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 11 August.

The charges relate to a fatal crash between a ute and a car on Plenty Road about 6.30pm.

An 87-year-old Reservoir woman, who was the passenger in the car, died at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 52-year-old Reservoir woman, sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage from the area is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
