Man charged following stabbing death in Lithgow

A man has been charged after an alleged fatal stabbing of another man at Lithgow last night, NSW Police say.

About 9.30pm today, emergency services were called to a home on Davy Street, following reports of an altercation between two men.

Officers from Chifley Local Area Command attended and located the body of a man, aged 35, inside the house with stab wounds.

A crime scene was established at the address and inquiries detectives from Chifley Local Area Command commenced inquiries.

Police conducted a search of the surrounding area and arrested a 27-year-old man in a nearby property.

He was taken to Lithgow Police Station where he was charged with murder.

He’s been refused bail to appear at Bathurst Local Court today tomorrow.

Police allege the men were known to one another.
