Man charged following series of hire-car burglaries

Hume Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a series of commercial burglaries across the state, Victoria Police say.

Police executed a search warrant at an address on Lima Court in Westmeadows yesterday.

A number of electronics, as well as allegedly stolen credit cards and documents, were seized during the warrant.

The warrant was executed in relation to a number of alleged burglaries at vehicle-hire businesses.

The alleged incidents occurred at the following addresses:

-Clarendon Street, South Melbourne on 1 and 6 February

-Clarke Street, South Melbourne on 2 February

-Mickleham Road, Tullamarine on 3 February

-Barry Road, Coolaroo on 16 and 17 February

-Sydney Road, Campbellfield on 18 and 19 February

A 29-year-old Westmeadows man was arrested during the warrant.

He has been charged with a range of offences including multiple counts of burglary, theft, theft of motor vehicle and reckless conduct endanger serious injury.

The man has been remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates Court today.
