Man charged following service station robbery in Kooringal

A man has been charged after a service station at Kooringal was robbed at knifepoint earlier in the year, NSW Police say.

About 8.50pm on Saturday 29 July 2017, two men entered the petrol station on Lake Albert Road with their faces concealed.

Police will allege one of the men – who was in possession of a knife – demanded cash from the till, whilst the other man waited near the door.

The female attendant complied and the pair were last seen running through a nearby shopping mall car park.

The attendant was not injured.

Police from Wagga Wagga Local Area Command began investigations into the incident.

As a result of those investigations, today, a 19-year-old man was arrested and charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon. He was also charged with unrelated fraud and property offences.

The local man was refused bail and will appear before Wagga Wagga Local Court tomorrow.

Meanwhile, investigations continue into the robbery and anyone with information is urged to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
