Man charged following theft and deceptions

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man after a credit card was allegedly stolen and used in Melbourne this month, Victoria Police say.

It is alleged the card was stolen from an unknown location and used by two men at a number of stores within the CBD and Carlton areas on 12 and 13 October.

A Roxburgh Park man presented himself to a police station today in relation to the incident.

He has been charged with nine offences, including theft and obtain property by deception.

The 23-year-old has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 11 December.

The investigation remains ongoing.
