Man Charged for Damaging Police Vehicles in Bathurst

A man will face court today after damaging police vehicles in the state's central tablelands over the weekend.

About 11pm on Sunday (7 January 2024), officers attached to Chifley Police District commenced inquiries after observing a police vehicle with a smashed windscreen and another with damage to the bonnet.

Following inquiries, about 9am yesterday (Monday 8 January 2024), police attended a home in Russell Street, Bathurst and arrested a 54-year-old man.

He was taken to Bathurst Police Station and charged with two counts of destroy or damage property.

The man was refused bail to appear at Bathurst Local Court today (Tuesday 9 January 2024).
