Man Charged for Filming Woman in Maroubra Bathroom

A man will face court charged after allegedly filming a woman in a bathroom in Sydney's eastern beaches.

About 9pm yesterday (Friday 28 November 2025), police were called to a shopping centre on Maroubra Road, Maroubra, after reports a man allegedly filmed a 23-year-old woman in the bathroom.

Police will allege the man entered the women's bathroom and used a mobile phone to film the woman in the stall.

The man was confronted by the woman before he allegedly ran from the scene.

Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command commenced an extensive search of the area and following a foot pursuit police located and arrested a 25-year-old man on Lexington Place, Maroubra.

His mobile phone was seized and will undergo forensic examination.

He was taken to Maroubra Police Station where he was charged with intentionally record intimate image without consent, hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty and peep or pry.

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division – Court 7 today (Saturday 29 November 2025).
