Man charged high range PCA, resist arrest in Springwood

A man will appear in court after being caught allegedly drink driving and resist arrest in Springwood overnight, NSW Police say.

About 6.20pm today, a 54-year-old man was driving an Alfa Romeo along Macquarie Road, Springwood. As he approached the intersection on Hawkesbury Road, mounted a kerb and collided with a street sign, and then collided with two other vehicles.

Officers from Blue Mountains Local Area Command attended and spoke to the 54-year-old man who allegedly refused a roadside breath test.

He was arrested and allegedly resisted officers before being taken to Springwood Police Station, where he underwent a breath analysis which returned a reading of 0.223.

He was charged with drive with high range PCA and resist officer in execution of duty, and refuse or fail to submit to breath test.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Penrith Local Court on Thursday 27 April, 2017.

His driver’s licence was suspended.
