Man Charged in 25 Sydney Break-Ins

A man has been charged with 25 break and enter offences in Sydney's north-west.

In August 2025, officers attached to The Hills Police Area Command commenced an investigation under Strike Force Maxwood into multiple break and enter offences at residences and businesses in Pymble, Hassall Grove, Rouse Hill, Castle Hill, Norwest, Seaforth, Kellyville, St Ives, and Cheltenham.

Police allege between Monday 18 August 2025 and Monday 8 September 2025, a man allegedly broke into 24 residences, vehicles, and businesses across the Kuring-Gai, Ryde, and The Hills Police Area Commands, and stole property and cash registers.

Further inquiries also revealed the man allegedly broke into an address on the Pacific Highway, Roseville, where a blue sedan was stolen.

On Monday 8 September 2025, officers executed a search warrant at an address on Brown Street, Penrith, where they located and seized items linked to the alleged break and enters, however no one was located at the address.

Following extensive inquiries, about midnight on Tuesday 9 September 2025, police arrested the 39-year-old man at Chatswood Railway Station.

He was taken Royal North Shore Hospital for further assessment under police guard.

About 7.40pm yesterday (Tuesday 9 September 2025), he was released from the hospital and taken to The Hills Police Station where he was charged with 25 offences:

  • 10x break and enter house etc steal value less than or equal to $60,000
  • 5x break and enter dwelling-house etc with intent (steal)
  • 4x larceny value less than or equal to $2,000
  • 2x enter building/land with intent commit indictable offence
  • 2x destroy or damage property less than or equal to $2000
  • Take and drive conveyance without consent of owner; and,
  • Aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Wednesday 10 September 2025).
