Man Charged in Central West Stolen Truck Probe: NSW Police

A man will face court charged with allegedly stealing a truck in the state's central west in January.

Police received reports of a truck carrying round-up was allegedly stolen from a property on Davies Lane, Parkes, between 3.30pm on Wednesday 31 January 2024 and 5.15am on Thursday 1 February 2024.

Officers attached to the Rural Crime Prevention Team and Central West Police District commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The truck was located abandoned in a lane way off Rose Street, Parkes, about 3pm on Sunday 4 February 2024.

Following inquiries, about 10am on Monday (25 March 2024), police attended a correctional facility in Wellington and spoke with a 31-year-old man.

He was charged with take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, and destroy or damage property.

The man was refused bail to appear at Parkes Local Court on Thursday 9 May 2024.
