Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man for offences relating to the murder of David Khou nearly one year ago.
About 6.50pm on Sunday 29 December 2024, emergency services were called to St Johns Road in Canley Heights following reports of a shooting.
A 31-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for gunshot wounds; however, he could not be revived.
The man has since been identified as David Khou.
A short time later, emergency services were called to an abandoned car alight on Bathurst Street in Wakeley.
State Crime Command's Homicide Squad with detectives from Fairfield City Police Area Command established Strike Force Loughrea to investigate.
One man has previously been charged and remains before the courts.
Following further extensive inquiries, about 7am yesterday (Tuesday 16 December 2025), strike force detectives executed a search warrant at a home in Oran Park.
During a search of the property, police located and seized 500g of MDMA, a large number of unknown powders and liquids, approximately $10,000 in cash, 15 boxes of fireworks and five tasers.
A 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Narellan Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, supply prohibited drug >= commercial quantity, five counts of possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, handle explosive/precursor without authorising, fail to comply digital evidence access order direction, and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.
He was refused bail to appear in Bail Division Local Court 3 today (Wednesday 17 December 2025), where police will allege the man drove and positioned a stolen white Audi in the Fairfield Heights area in the hours leading up to the murder.
