A man will face court today charged following an investigation into alleged property offences.
In early December 2025, police attached to Newcastle City Police District commenced an investigation after a man allegedly stole several items from a clothing retailer in Kotara.
Following extensive inquiries, police linked the man to several other alleged incidents that occurred in the Newcastle, Port Stephens, Lake Macquarie and Mudgee areas.
About 10am yesterday (Thursday 11 December 2025), police attended a licensed premises in Wallsend where they arrested a 34-year-old man.
During a search of the man, police allegedly located and seized a bottle of 1,4-Butanediol and a knife.
He was taken to Waratah Police Station where he was charged with 23 offences,
- Seven counts of larceny
- Five counts of drive motor vehicle during disqualification period
- Three counts of enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse
- Two counts of use class A vehicle displaying misleading etc number-plate
- Break and enter house etc steal
- Dishonestly obtain property by deception
- Take and drive conveyance without consent of owner
- Hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty
- Possess prohibited drug, and
- Custody of knife in public place.
He was refused bail to appear Bail Division Court 2 (Friday 12 December 2025).
