Man Charged in Walgett, Bourke Drug Supply Probe

A man has been charged with drug and domestic violence offences in the state's central north.

Strike Force MENINGIE II is a Central North Police District led investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs, namely methylamphetamine, in the Walgett and Bourke areas.

Following inquiries, yesterday (Wednesday 10 September 2025) officers from Central North Police District, with the assistance of the Dog Unit and Western Region Domestic Violence High Risk Arrest Team, attended an address on Duff Street, Walgett and arrested a 39-year-old man.

He was taken to Walgett Police Station where he was charged with two counts of breach apprehended domestic violence order, destroy or damage property and knowingly take part in supply prohibited drug greater than indictable quantity.

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 4 today (Thursday 11 September 2025).
