Man charged over armed robbery attempt at Nambour, QLD

Police have charged a man following the attempted armed robbery of a newsagent at Nambour on September 23, 2016, Queensland Police say.

It is alleged during the incident a man armed with a meat cleaver entered the Currie Street business and made demands for money from the store attendant.

The store attendant produced a baseball bat and the offender then fled the store empty handed.

A 17-year-old man from Warana has been charged with attempted armed robbery.

He is due to face the Maroochydore Magistrates Court today.
