Man charged over cannabis cultivation in Wellington

A man has been charged over the alleged cultivation of cannabis in the state’s west.

Following inquiries by officers attached to Orana Local Area Command, about 1pm today, police attended a home on Parkes Street, Wellington, NSW Police say.

Police will alleged during a search of the premises, 15 cannabis plants, over 300 grams of cannabis, and cannabis seeds, and ammunition were located. All items have been seized for forensic examination.

A 66-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Wellington Police Station where he was charged with cultivate a prohibited plant, supply a prohibited drug, and two counts of possess prohibited drug.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Wellington Local Court on 18 October 2016.
