Man charged over drug production in Griffith

A man will appear in court in October after police charged him over the cultivation of cannabis at Griffith today, NSW Police say.

About 8am today (28 August 2017) police from Griffith Local Area Command executed a search warrant at a home in Lakes Road at Nericon.

Police located a hydroponic cannabis crop in a rear shed at the property.

As the search continued, further plants were also located in a modified water tank.

Police seized the 39 plants and hydroponic setup which will be destroyed.

A 36-year-old man was arrested at the scene and conveyed to Griffith Police Station.

He was later charged with cultivate cannabis and possess prohibited drug.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Griffith Local Court on Wednesday 11 October 2017.
