Man charged over exotic reptiles, Paradise Point

Police have today charged a man after two exotic reptiles were allegedly located at a Paradise Point home yesterday.

Around 4.20pm, officers from the Rapid Action Patrol group executed a search warrant at a private residence on Oxley Drive, where they allegedly located a Boa Constrictor, Leopard Gecko and number of drug-utensils.

A 42-year-old Paradise Point man has now been charged with two counts of possessing a declared pest.

He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on January 23, 2019.

During the search warrant, three occupants were located at the address and were arrested.

A 36-year-old Paradise Point man was charged with one count each of possessing property suspected of being used in connection with a drug offence and possessing drug utensils.

A 46-year-old Paradise Point man was charged with one count each of obstructing police, possessing property suspected of being used in connection with a drug offence and possessing drug utensils.

A 31-year-old woman of no fixed address was charged with two counts of possessing drug utensils and one count of possessing property suspected of being used in connection with a drug offence.

All are scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday, August 16.
