Man charged over fatal crash in Morisset

A man has been charged with multiple offences, including high-range drink-driving, following a fatal crash at Morisset earlier this month, NSW Police say.

On Wednesday 8 November 2017, emergency services were called to Marconi Road after a Toyota Hilux lost control and collided with a BMW.

The passenger of the Hilux, a 73-year-old man, was taken to John Hunter Hospital where he died on Saturday (11 November 2017).

The driver of the BMW was treated for minor injuries.

The Hilux driver, a 40-year-old man, wasn’t injured and was arrested at the scene after returning a positive roadside breath test. He was taken to Toronto Police Station.

The Dora Creek man was charged with high-range drink-driving after a breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.253.

Following further inquiries conducted by officers attached to the Police Transport Command, the man was today (Friday 17 November 2017) charged with aggravated dangerous driving causing death and aggravated dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm.

He has been given conditional bail to appear at Toronto Local Court on 12 December 2017.
