Man charged over hotel break-ins in Rozelle

A man will face court today following investigations into two alleged hotel break-ins at Rozelle, NSW Police say.

Police will allege the man broke into the hotel on Victoria Road about 4.15am today and stole cash, documents and a floor safe.

He was arrested about 10.15am the same day while allegedly carrying the safe in a shopping trolley along Victoria Road.

The 44-year-old man was taken to Newtown Police Station where he was charged with break, enter and steal and possess identity information to commit indictable offence.

Following further inquiries, he was also charged with breaking into the same hotel on Saturday 17 June 2017 where he allegedly stole keys, a cash register and a computer.

The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.
