Man Charged over Peep and Pry Offences in Inner West

A man has been charged following an investigation into multiple alleged peep and pry incidents in Sydney's inner west recently.

Between Wednesday 1 March 2023 and Wednesday 29 March 2023, residents on Old Canterbury Road at Lewisham reported seeing a man peering into the windows of their homes.

Officers from Inner West Police Area Command were told of three separate alleged incidents along the street during that period.

As inquiries were continuing, detectives were alerted on Friday (28 April 2023) to a man allegedly peering into the window of a home on Smith Street at Summer Hill.

A 50-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Newtown Police Station where he was charged with stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm, and two counts of peep or pry.

The Ashfield man was refused bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 30 April 2023).
