Man charged over Riverwood stabbing, NSW

A man has been charged after a stabbing in Sydney’s south on Wednesday.

Shortly before 2.30am yesterday, police were called outside a home on Bonds Road, Riverwood, following reports a man had been stabbed.

Officers from Campsie Local Area Command attended and located a 32-year-old man with a stab wound to his thigh.

The injured man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to St George Hospital in a serious condition.

A crime scene has been established which was examined by forensic specialists.

Following inquiries, about 5pm today, police arrested a 28-year-old man after a vehicle stop on St Johns Road, Canley Heights, NSW Police say.

He was taken to Cabramatta Police Station where he was charged with wound with intent and goods in custody.

He was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court tomorrow.
