Man charged over serious traffic crash at Nerang, QLD

Police have charged a man over a serious traffic crash at Nerang on Friday, May 11, Queensland Police say.

It is alleged that around 8.00pm, the man was driving a white utility, with four passengers onboard, whilst under the influence of drugs and alcohol, when he has ‘drifted’ around a roundabout at the intersection of McLaren Road and Oakdale Avenue, losing control of the vehicle causing it to roll.

Following investigations, a 22-year-old Carrara man was charged this morning with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle and adversely affected by an intoxicating substance and mid-range drink driving.

He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrate’s Court on October 8, 2018.
