Man charged over South Coogee home invasion, NSW

A man has been charged over a home invasion and alleged stabbing at South Coogee in December, NSW Police say.

About 10.30pm on Tuesday 12 December 2017, emergency services were called to a unit on Malabar Road following reports a man was injured.

Police have been told two men forced their way into the property and assaulted the 43-year-old man with a knife.

The occupant was treated at the scene for a laceration to his leg before being taken to Prince of Wales Hospital. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Following inquiries, about 4.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 14 February 2018), a 43-year-old man was arrested at Maroubra Police Station.

While at the police station he allegedly resisted arrest.

He was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon cause wounding/GBH, specially aggravated enter dwelling with intent wound and resist or hinder officer in execution of duty.

He was refused bail to appear at Waverly Local Court today (Thursday 15 February 2018).
