Maribyrnong and Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man in relation to an incident involving the theft of a Toyota Kluger on 6 May, Victoria Police say.
A member of the public recognised the vehicle in Muirs Court, Taylors Lakes yesterday and alerted police just after 9am.
A short time later police located and arrested the man, a 34-year-old of no fixed place of address, at a licensed venue in St Albans.
Police also recovered a second vehicle that was allegedly stolen from a Keilor address earlier that morning.
The man has been charged with more than 130 offences including theft of motor vehicle, theft from motor vehicle and a series of obtain property by deception.
He appeared before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court yesterday and was remanded to reappear at Sunshine Magistrates’ Court on 22 June.
