A second man has been charged in relation to an alleged break-in at a warehouse in Sydney’s west earlier this year, NSW Police say.
Detectives from the Property Crime Squad’s Breaking Unit established Strike Force Seeliger to investigate a number of break-ins at commercial premises in Sydney’s west.
It is alleged that at about 11.30pm on Tuesday 14 February 2017, three men drove a stolen truck through a roller door to a warehouse on Kangaroo Avenue, Eastern Creek.
After gaining access, the men used a forklift to load televisions onto the truck before driving away.
Police will allege the truck was stolen earlier in the evening from a business at Huntingwood.
Following extensive inquiries, strike force detectives arrested a 33-year-old man at a home on Handel Avenue, Emerton, about 8.30am yesterday.
A search warrant was also executed at the home, where police seized a number of items relevant to the investigation.
The man was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence in company; aggravated break, enter, and steal in company; and take and drive conveyance without consent of owner.
He was refused bail and appeared at Mt Druitt Local Court, where he was formally refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court on Friday 16 June 2017.
A 36-year-old man was previously charged by investigators. He remains before the courts.
Investigations under Strike Force Seeliger are continuing.
