Man charged, replica firearm and drug paraphernalia seized in Penrith

A man has been charged with drug and firearm offences in Sydney’s west earlier today, NSW Police say.

In August 2016, officers from Mount Druitt Local Area Command established Strike Force Idsal targeting the supply of illicit drugs in the area.

Just before 9am today, police arrested a 44-year-old man on Nioka Road, Penrith.

A search warrant was executed at a home on the street, during which police located and seized drug paraphernalia and a replica firearm.

The man was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where he was charged with possess unauthorised pistol, supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis (x3), knowingly direct activities of criminal group, and organises/conducts/assists drug premises.

He was refused bail to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court today, where he was refused bail again to reappear at Penrith Local Court on 17 February 2017.
