Man Charged, Scooter Recovered in Melbourne Burglary

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man and located a mobility scooter which was allegedly stolen during a burglary last month.

It is alleged a man gained access to an underground carpark on Spencer Street about 3.30pm on Thursday, 20 November.

He allegedly stole a mobility scooter worth more than $11,000.

As part of a number of ongoing enquiries, police attended an address in Westmeadows this morning where a 42-year-old man was arrested.

He was interviewed by detectives and charged with burglary and theft.

The Westmeadows man has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court at a later date.

The mobility scooter, which was not damaged, was located in a carpark in East Melbourne and has been reunited with the owner - a 22-year-old man.
