Man Charged Under Operation Waratah 4 At Parramatta

A man will face court over carrying knife in a public place in Sydney's west.

About 12.45pm today (Thursday 12 June 2025), officers attached to Police Transport Command were conducting high visibility patrols at Parramatta Railway Station, under Operation Waratah 4 when they located a man walking along with a knife.

When he failed to drop the knife as directed, extra police resources were called, and the 42-year-old man was arrested.

He was taken to Parramatta Police Station where he was charged with carry knife visible in public place – cause fear for safety and hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Friday 13 June 2025).

Investigations under Operation Waratah 4 continue.
