Man charged with affray following fatal stabbing in Ryde

Police investigating the fatal stabbing of a teenager at Ryde have today charged a man with affray, NSW Police say.

Strike Force Berkley was established by detectives from Ryde Local Area Command to investigate the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old boy at a party at Ryde on Sunday 7 August 2016.

A number of other people were also injured during the incident

A 20-year-old man from Ryde has been under police guard at Westmead Hospital since Sunday morning and was today taken to Parramatta Police Station and charged with affray.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.

Strike Force Berkley investigations are ongoing and police continue to appeal for any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Eastwood Police or Crime Stopers.
