Man charged with aggravated break and enter and kidnap in Holroyd

A man has been charged with alleged aggravated break and enter and kidnap after a domestic incident in South Wentworthville, NSW Police say.

Police have been told about 6.30pm on Saturday yesterday, a 49-year-old man broke into a home on centenary Road, South Wentworthville, and assaulted a 47-year-old woman.

He then allegedly left the location taking a 12-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl with him.

Officers from Holroyd Local Area Command attended the address and began investigations and conducted extensive searches of nearby streets and suburbs.

Following further inquiries, just before 6pm today the man and the children were located at a residence in Greystanes.

The man was arrested and taken to Merrylands Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence, common assault (domestic) and take person with intent to obtain advantage (domestic).

He has been refused bail and will appear before Fairfield Local Court tomorrow

The children have been reunited with their mother.

All parties involved in the incident are known to each other.
